Pulp and Paper   Petrochemical   LNG   Utility   Mining   Cement Manufacturing   Steel Manufacturing       PROBLEM SUMMARY : Corroded and eroded cooling water butterfly valve   SOLUTION : Devcon’s Brushable Ceramic 11760 (Red) and 11765 (Blue) was used to rebuild this cooling water butterfly valve. The surface area was sandblasted to a SP5 white metal finish and chemically cleaned using Devcon’s Cleaner Blend 300 19510. A primer coat of Brushable Ceramic Red was applied. After one hours time a final coat of Brushable Ceramic Blue was applied to provide a smooth protective barrier against corrosion, abrasion and erosion.                                 PROBLEM SUMMARY : Worn coal fired boiler in-feed pipes   SOLUTION : Devcon’s Wear Guard High Temp 11480 was used as wear resistant lining on these boiler in-feed pipes. Expandable metal was tack welded to the inside of the pipes. The surface was then sandblasted to a SP5 finish and chemically cleaned using Devcon’s Cleaner Blend 300 19510. Wear Guard High Temp was applied using a trowel and smoothed using a paint brush and MEK solution providing a wear resistant barrier to the metal.                                 PROBLEM SUMMARY : Worn submersible pump casing   SOLUTION : Devcon’s Ceramic Repair Putty 11700 and Brushable Ceramic 11760 (Red) was used to rebuild this worn submersible pump casing. The surface area was sandblasted to a SP5 white metal finish and chemically cleaned using Devcon’s Cleaner Blend 300 19510. Ceramic Repair Putty was applied to rebuild the areas eroded deeper than 3 mm. After one hours time Brushable Ceramic Red was applied to encapsulate the Ceramic Repair Putty and provide a smooth protective barrier against erosion and corrosion.                                 PROBLEM SUMMARY : Worn coal fired boiler in-feed pipes   SOLUTION : Devcon’s Wear Guard High Temp 11480 and Brushable Ceramic 11760 (Red) was used to rebuild these worn boiler in-feed pipes. The surface area was sandblasted to a SP5 finish and chemically cleaned using Devcon’s Cleaner Blend 300 19510. Wear Guard High Temp was applied using a trowel and smoothed using a paint brush and MEK solution. After one hours time two coats of Brushable Ceramic was applied providing a smooth wear resistant coating. After one years service the pipes are recoated using Brushable Ceramic.
